The time has come for me to move on and leave the small legacy of Act Out behind.
I started Act Out in 2007 as a way to use the newly learnt Boal applied theatre techniques from Theatre of the Oppressed to facilitate what I considered would be a more real and equitable community development.
I spent 8 years wholeheartedly working towards ways to holistically tackle ‘wicked problems’ like violence against women, sexual abuse, bulling, marginalisation, homelessness, and other systemic social issues. It has been a privilege and I am grateful and proud of some of the work we have done with some many wonderful people in organisations and communities.
