WALKING WITH WILDFLOWERS
FITZGERALD BIOSPHERE AND STIRLING RANGES
14 - 20 SEPT 2026
Our 7-day walking adventure takes you on an immersive botanical journey to witness the abundance and vibrance of hundreds of wildflowers in their pristine natural habitats within these two breathtaking, Western Australian landscapes.
The Stirling Range National Park and the Fitzgerald Biosphere are biodiversity strongholds.
The geology of the Stirling Ranges stretches back over 2,500 million years, on its low-nutrient soil thrive a range of ecosystems that sustain over 1500 floral species, dozens of which are rare, threatened, priority-listed, and endemic.
Likewise in the Fitzgerald Biosphere there are more than 2,000 plant species, more than 70% of them are endemic.
You'll be walking through one of the most florally biodiverse places on the planet, and on some spectacular landscapes too!
There are dramatic coastal landscapes, quartzite ranges, limestone cliffs.
You’ll hike up granite peaks, along craggy & slippery granite footholds and rocky trails.
And for seven days you’ll be captivated and awed by the abundance, richness and diversity of the thousands of wildflowers you’ll encounter.
Lechenaultia formosa - hard to drive by without stopping for a photo. A lot of wildflowers display their brightest colours roadside.
“I had the privilege to “walk with wildflowers“ in Sep. 2024 with Erika.
The Queen of Sheba was the orchid I wanted to see and Edgewalkers was the provider that was recommended by the Tourist Information.
They were absolutely correct.
Thanks to Erika I‘ve been able to spot close to 50 different orchids and dozens of plants bushes and trees endemic to WA!
Absolutely awesome!
(and a Dugite near our path as well!)
Erika did not get tired to show us rare endemic plants telling us the scientific and the popular names. And I got all the time I asked for to take pics!
If you want to see wildflowers and have a fun walk with Erika, Edgewalkers is for me a First Choice!”
The wildflowers are extraordinary.
Walking among them is an intimate way, not only to experience their natural beauty, but also the remarkable diversification that has enabled them to adapt, survive and and thrive for the 60 - 100 million years they’ve been on this continent.
Let yourself be inspired by their beauty as well as their resilience, strength, and determination.
And let the Edgewalkers team make this one of the most memorable, inspiring, educational, and inspiring walking adventures you've ever experienced.
If softness was weakness
the flowers would never grow.

“The whole experience was so well organised, from after that very first phone call I had with you when I was both relieved and excited that you were able to fit the 4 of us onto a trip to when you dropped us off virtually at our doorstep. We love how you’re all so passionate about what you do. You complement each other and work so very well as a team that that it’s a delight to observe. Denise commented that she always felt totally safe, which she’s probably more sensitive about than me, but I do agree with her! You always kept us well informed on the walks, and were generous in the knowledge you shared with us. It was fun to see how pleased you were when Terry confirmed you had correctly identified the botanical name of a difficult to remember wildflower. We both loved the food and agree that Kirra is a genuine culinary artist. Each day was varied, and things flowed along smoothly. You looked after all of us very well and it was like a big family even with our to be expected differences. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for you. The entire experience surpassed our expectations and for that we are deeply and genuinely appreciative. Warmest regards and best wishes to the three of you”
“Edgewalkers put on such a fantastic trip. Being a vegan I’m often very badly catered and cared for on trips.
Edgewalkers, made everything worry free and easy. The guides are amazing, caring individuals, who think about every detail, nothing is too much trouble, the food was amazing, so fresh and tasty, first time I haven’t had to worry about what I’d get to eat each day, what a relief!
To top it off the walks & the wildflower were spectacular, the beaches pristine, the accommodation was clean and comfortable the local restaurants enjoyable.
I came home from this trip feeling so good, refreshed and relaxed, everything was just “no stress”, I love, love, loved it!!! Edgewalkers are a great company, putting on high quality walks with local experts to add interest and expertise, I’ll definitely be traveling with them again.”

“My trip with Erika in September to the Fitzgerald National Park was truly the highlight of 2018 for me.
Going into the wilderness to see places I would not get to on my own with like -minded souls was a treasure.
It was a nature smorgasbord seeing amazing coastline and wildflowers.
Erika took great care of us ...it was great to enjoy the ride without the organising.
Yes, I would do it again!”
“Awesome, overwhelming, exquisite, sheer joy - some of the words I use to describe my Walking with Wildflowers tour in the Fitzgerald River National Park with Edgewalkers.
Truly there are not enough superlatives to describe this trip.
I dove headlong into the adventure and was supported throughout the beautiful, caring, safe experience by Erika and my other travelling companions, all of whom were strangers to me at the beginning and dear friends by the end.
Thank you Edgewalkers.”
