Food & Water
We’re pretty sure that you’ll be looking forward to the meals each day. Food is home cooked and fresh, prepared in traditional ways with a combination of Balkan, Turkish and European influences.
At the guesthouses the breakfasts are simple, homemade bread with locally grown vegetables, dairy products and eggs.
Dinners include traditional soups, meat dishes, vegetables, pies.
Guesthouses also will provide you with a packed lunch - often including a sandwich with cheese / eggs and salads.
We are a vegetarian company and vegetarianism are not problem but choices are limited in the remote locations. We will be providing you with a personal stash of power snacks to keep you energised in between meals.
We’ll provide a list of suggested items to bring - this will include a cable back or drinking bottle.
Water is provided from mountain streams or in guesthouses tap water is drinkable. We’ll have water treatment tablets but we will also suggest that you bring your own if you are concerned about drinking untreated water.
Accommodation
The accommodation is in simple homestay/guesthouse/lodge-style with simple bathroom facilities.
We will be dong the best we can to accommodate every one in twin share - but if you absolutely need a single supplkemenbt we need to know as son as possible as there just aren’t enough spaces in these small and private homesteads and ‘guest houses’.
Often rooms can accommodate between two to three people, sometimes five people per room.
It always depends on availability of rooms.
Sheets and blankets, towels, shampoo, warm water and other basic services are provided, but it’s recommended to pack a travel towel and sleeping bag, just in case.
We will provide a list of what to bring.
Private rooms are limited in availability. The earlier we know, the sooner we can make sure we can secure one at minimal cost.
