TESTIMONIALS

As soon as I saw the post on Facebook, I was interested.  I flew from Melbourne, met a friend from Broome in Perth, and we travelled down to Margaret River to attend the Creativity Workshop.  On top of the modern accommodation and wonderful cuisine, the private setting of Frog Choir was amazing – very peaceful and secluded.  It was great to meet new people from different walks of life, and to learn of some of their life-experiences.  The walks each day were a great way to quietly think about what we had learned, as well as offering an opportunity to learn about some of WA’s flora. Erika created a wonderful space for learning and exploring new endeavours.  Her experience in working with groups and teaching were evident and her warmth, compassion, and vitality made for a welcoming and relaxed environment. Erika also brought in others to help explore various creative activities: painting with Rebecca Cool; singing with Sharon Ogle; and photography with Donna Wolter.  As well, Erika helped us learn through writing and theatre. Whilst I was ready for change, that weekend became the catalyst for me taking up new hobbies, learning new skills, and creating space for them in my life.  I have made some immediate changes, and I have many ideas / plans that I wish to explore in the future.  I found the three weeks of coaching post-retreat were worthwhile in terms of accountability and transitioning from the retreat back into everyday life. I recommend the Creativity & Walking Retreat to anyone who wants to tap into their creative side.  Even if you don’t, it’s a wonderful weekend away.  It was worth every cent of my investment and I’d do it again.  I loved it!

What did I gain from this course? An insight into my fears, a safe place to explore what has been blocking me all these years, an art deco couch, a pair of Doc Martens, a new camera, 2 poems I didn’t think I could write, a short story, great fun painting BIG, new paints, old records, freedom to be me or at least to try to figure out who me is, confusion, exhilaration, freedom from judging my art and the creative part-time job I’ve always wanted.
— Sue Parker, Occupational Therapist
