The passionate and experienced Edgewalkers Team invite women hikers to join us on this unique & transformative WA wilderness experience.
Our 7-day full-pack immersion through the ancient raw and rugged spectacle of the Murchison Gorge in the Kalbarri National Park in WA’s mid-west.
This is an invitation:
to step into deep into Nanda Yamatji Country;
to meander along the ledges and edges of an ancient riverine gorge carved over millions of years by the lower reaches of the Murchison River;
to walk amongst colourful wildflowers,
to step over fossilised insects and organisms,
watt de across the flowing waters of the river and set up camp along its edges;
to wake up to the sound of swans, egrets, pelicans and other waterbirds;
to feel the peace, deep solitude and healing that untouched nature can offer.

Walk deep into the ancient red rock landscape of Nanda Country in the Kalbarri National Park, and let yourself feel transported to a time before time as we follow the meandering of the Murchison River for 38 km of the 80 km gorge.
Enjoy the challenge, the freedom, and the breathtaking beauty of 5 days of overnight hiking and wild camping on this unique opportunity to experience West Australian wilderness, including wildlife and wildflowers.

We fully support this hike with top equipment and experienced and fully qualified, wilderness first aid guides.
OUTLINE ITINERARY
DAY 1: PERTH TO KALBARRI ACCOMMODATION - KALBARRI 600 KM
We set off early from Perth to Kalbarri stopping in historic Dongara for lunch. In Kalbarri we distribute the equipment and food and share a meal at a local eatery.
DAY 1-6: FRAMEWORK ITINERARY WILD CAMPING - 38 KM HIKING - ROSS GRAHAM TO NATURE'S WINDOW
Early morning departure to Ross Graham Lookout where we are met by a local Traditional Owner who will welcome us onto the country of the Nanda people. Once in the gorge our goal is to complete the 38 km of the gorge from Ross Graham to the Nature's Window over four days - stopping as needed and camping where we find suitable spots along this spectacular river system. Once at Nature's Window we will be met by our vehicle and make a quick stop at the world class Kalbarri Skywalk the vastness and cultural importance of the Kalbarri National Park. before we make our way to the accommodation to enjoy a warm shower and a celebratory dinner in a local restaurant.
DAY 7: KALBARRI TO PERTH KALBARRI - PERTH
Drive back to Perth after a hearty breakfast in local cafe We will drop off in Perth.

“I’ve just returned from Edgewalkers’ five-day hike through the Murchison River Gorge (Kalbarri National Park). Suffice it to say I was apprehensive going into this as have done plenty of day walks but it’s been over 30 years since I last did a multi-day hike.
Well, this experience was everything I had hoped for.
While the distance may not seem that far, the terrain is as challenging as it is scenic. Crossing the river several times each day, wading chest-deep through the river because there is no other way around, climbing up a near vertical cliff face, soft sand, and mud, this hike had it all.
The equipment and support supplied by Edgewalkers was first class.
Erika and Kirra made sure we found our way, had plenty to eat, and provided words of encouragement when we needed it.”

We know that life can be unpredictable and you may need to change your plans and cancel your booking.
WALKING ADVENTURES: If this happens please let us know no less than 31 days before your tour and we will be happy to give you a refund with a cancellation fee of 50%. If you cancel 30 – 15 days before the start of your tour, the cancellation fee is 75%. Regrettably, if less than 15 days notice is given, we are unable to give you any refund. Where possible though, we will consider transfers to alternative dates with a fee of 10% of your booking.
CREATIVITY RETREATS: If you need to cancel please let us know no less than 31 days before your event and we will be happy to give you a refund with a cancellation fee of 50%. Regrettably, If you cancel less than 30 days notice is given, we are unable to give you any refund. Where possible though, we will consider transfers to alternative dates with a fee of 10% of your booking.
To be clear the percentage refunded refers to the percentage of the total price of the event.
